Romería de Corrales 2010, Huelva.

Women in traditional dresses, behind them, is the icon of  the saints Jose and Maria.

The Romerías are catholic festivals that are celebrated in many villages in Andalucia, the south of Spain. The people celebrates it in the name of their Saints. The following photos are from the romería of Corrales, a village close to where i live. These are publicated in the local newspaper Viva Aljaraque. I’m not catholic but i think that i must to show my culture in this blog to the world, for this reason i posted today in English.

People in the road to the ermita, a special church where the icon of the saint is placed.

Children don’t waste any energy, they have their own way to go.

Kids in the wagon.

Dance and traditional songs in the road.

Old man singing flamenco music.
